Sometime in April we got tickets to go watch the Houston Astros play against the Cincinnati Reds at Minute Maid Park in Downtown Houston. When we got there, the Astros were down 2 to 1. It may have been the bottom of the third inning.
The game was really close, and at one point, the Astros hit two back-to-back home runs, increasing the lead against the Reds by one run! The crowd was going wild... including the girls... and Gerardo... even I was cheering hard for the 'Stros...
But a bad call by the Astros in the eighth or ninth inning afforded the Reds to score twice, leading them to a victory by one run. I think the final score was 4 to 3. The girls enjoyed baseball so much, they asked us to drive them and a group of friends to a high school varsity baseball game the following Friday. On this occasion, they rooted for The Woodlands High, where the son of one of their school teachers plays as right fielder.
